Touch-me-not(Yellow Balsam)


INTRODUCTION:

These beautiful Yellow Balsam flowers are also know as the " Himalayan jewel orchid" due to its origin in the Himalayan region and its striking appearance, which resembles that of a jewel. Its unique and vibrant yellow foliage contributes to its gem-like quality, earning it the name "Jewel orchid".

HABITAT:

Grown in the mountainous region on slopes it produce mass flowers covering the plant.The plant thrives in partial shade and prefers well-drained soil.It is an annual herb and grows to around 2 feet.The leaves are ovate and serrated on the margins and the flowers can be predominantly white or yellow with spots on the inside.

SYMBOLISM:

FEATURES:

Botanically known as "Impatiens scabrida", it is a flowering plant that belongs to the balsam family, Balsaminaceae .Touch-me-not is a common name for the family Balsaminaceae of which Impatiens is the principal genus. The genus name derives from the fact that a ripe seed capsule, when touched, explodes violently, projecting seeds at some distance. Impatiens can be annuals or evergreen perennials, with fleshy stems bearing simple toothed leaves and solitary or clustered flowers.
